Welcome to “The Colorventurer!”

Hello and welcome to “The Colorventurer!”

First off, my name is Emily. It’s lovely to e-meet you.

Before I dive into “The Colorventurer” and why I decided to start this blog, I thought I might share a little bit about myself so you can get to know me.

I am a twenty-something born and raised in sunny California. I have an affinity for all things color as is evident by the outfits I wear and the places I travel to (and even this very website!). Growing up, I was the wild (yet fun!) child who had a passion for coloring outside the lines and being my crazy, authentic self. I was (and still am!) enthusiastic about living life to the fullest and doing what makes me happy. I love to travel and go on adventures to colorful places, especially with my fiancé, Ferdy. Some of my favorite trips include going to Paris (where Ferdy and I got engaged), Chicago, Charleston, and Amsterdam.

My family and I are absolute dog lovers, and between all of us, we collectively have five dogs (in order): Ziggy, a Chihuahua mix; Lucky, a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix; Khloey, a Chihuahua mix; Sparky, a Corgi/Husky mix; and Bella, a Pomeranian/Dachshund mix. I also enjoy reading, crafting, snapping and editing photos, and whipping up tasty recipes.

I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for college, where I graduated in three years with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Law and Society. Completely changing course from my studies, I worked in various editorial capacities for digital publications for a few years following college, most recently working in branded content. It was in my editorial roles that I gained a passion for creating fun, entertaining, engaging, and relatable content for audiences, and ultimately decided that I wanted to create a blog where I could share my passions with my own audience—that’s you!

The title “The Colorventurer” was a name that I came up with to describe myself on my Instagram account because I loved to share photos of all the colorful places around the world that I was venturing to. When coming up with a blog name, Ferdy and a lovely Instagram follower brought my “Colorventurer” name to my attention, and I thought that it would be the perfect, most natural fit.

Now, in case you’re wondering what I will be covering on this blog, travel is obviously one of the main things I will be writing about. However, I will also be including fun recipes, crafts, and other various lifestyle topics. Whether you are already a fellow color enthusiast like myself or simply testing the waters of all things color, my goal as “The Colorventurer” is to help you sprinkle color and fun into life!

I hope for “The Colorventurer” to become a bright, vibrant spot on the web and your go-to destination for colorful inspiration. I want to encourage you to embrace your quirks, live outside the lines, and to lead a fun and colorful lifestyle.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you continue on this colorventure with me!

  1. Every since I’ve know you as a Lil girl you were full of adventure. I remember working at casual corner and your mom and I purchased these orange kitten heel sandals with a rhinestone dragon fly on them or butterfly? You were in love with them and I believe you ended up with them. Always loved color and was amazing 🌸I wish you the best and continue your journey ! So proud of you💗💗💗💗

    1. Oh my goodness, yes——they had dragonflies on them! My mom did buy me a pair, and I loved those things fiercely. I cried when I finally grew out of them. Thank you so much for stopping by! I greatly appreciate your support! I hope you enjoy all of the future posts I have planned!
