These will be your new go-to cinnamon rolls.
There are fewer things better than a cinnamon roll for breakfast. Warm, buttery, and oh-so cinnamon-y, cinnamon rolls are just so comforting and yummy. Plus, the best part is making the whole house smell like scrumptious cinnamon goodness as they’re baking. Okay, well, perhaps sinking your teeth into that doughy deliciousness might actually be the best part. While I love a good ole standard cinnamon roll (there’s nothing wrong with a classic!), I wanted to jazz up this yummy breakfast treat and make it more fun and colorful (you know I love a festive treat Colorventurer-style!).
While I enjoy baking (I always use my favorite dough recipe from Martha Stewart for all of my bread/dough needs because it’s simple and easy), I happened to stumble upon Pillsbury’s Grands! Cinnamon Rolls with Strawberry and Cream flavored icing and just knew I had to give them a try. I mean, pretty pink icing on top of cinnamon rolls? Sign me up! Just look at how pretty they are!

For the strawberry and cream cinnamon rolls, the baking instructions were on par with the traditional Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. I preheated the oven to 350°F and greased and placed the cinnamon rolls in a round cake pan. I baked the cinnamon rolls for approximately 27 minutes, until they were perfectly golden brown.
Now came the fun part. The strawberry and cream frosting!
The icing definitely had a strawberry flavor (not too overpowering), giving the cinnamon rolls a fruity twist. Who knew strawberry icing paired so well with cinnamon rolls?! It definitely wasn’t a flavor combo that I was expecting, but they actually complemented each other rather well.

But, most importantly, they were so cute! I loved how fun the pink frosting was. It definitely made it an exciting breakfast treat, particularly if you whipped these up on a weekend.
However, I didn’t just stop there. Fun and festive cinnamon rolls call for a little sparkle—a little something extra. Thankfully, I had some adorable rainbow sprinkles on hand and generously dusted the tops of each cinnamon roll with sprinkles. Don’t they look so cute? Doesn’t it just make you want to have pretty pink and rainbow sprinkles cinnamon rolls for breakfast?

These strawberry and cream cinnamon rolls were definitely a hit at my house, and honestly, I’m down for always having festive cinnamon rolls.
Now, if you want to serve some fun cinnamon rolls like these at home, you can always use the Pillsbury ones like I did, or you can make your own version. Try out the dough recipe I linked above, and fill it up with softened butter, plenty of cinnamon and brown sugar. (Although not necessary, a small touch of vanilla in the cinnamon roll mixture is good, too!) Or you can use your own cinnamon roll recipe that you like.
Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, try swapping out a traditional cinnamon roll frosting for something like this strawberry frosting recipe. Or if you want to keep it simple, you can even use a jar of ready-made strawberry frosting.
The options are endless! Add whatever fun frosting you like and some cute adornments! Just remember to have fun with it!
